Product Description
Meet your new best friend. Inside every iJoy Robotic Massage Chair are the "hands" of a trained massage professional just waiting to provide you with a soothing back massage. Our multi-patent Robotic Massage Technology massage system so closely replicates the therapeutic techniques used by back and spinal care professionals that it is the preferred technology of the American College of Chiropractic Orthopedists. It is designed to follow the natural contour of your spine and move three-dimensionally in four different modes: rolling, kneading, compression and percussion. Rolling feels like the gentle hands of a massage therapist, pressing firmly on one side of your spine, then the other. Kneading feels like thumbs pressing firmly in a circular motion on both sides of the spine; this motion goes deeper, lifting and stretching the muscles to improve circulation. Compression feels like the heels of a professional therapist's hands firmly pushing on muscles alongside your spine; this aids in improving mobility and posture. Percussion feels like fists or the edge of hands rapidly tapping on your back; this invigorating deep muscle therapy is popular in sports medicine.

4 out of 5 stars Awesome Chair   August 7, 2009

Great value for its price. I use it everyday. It is great. I found it very difficult to select a massage chair, there were so many options and price range varies a lot. Even I-joy has a different options. This chair presents a good blend of price and performance. It looks good, not huge and ugly like the leather chairs. It is the right height, so you can comfortable sit even if you are not getting massage. When friends visit, we are all fighting for turns at the chair. Downsides are...(1) the chair has 3 autoprograms (preset massage modes) which run through the 5 different massage types (Kneading, percussion, compression, roll full and partial roll). When you select an autoprogram you cannot turn off any of the massage types. Say you don't like the kneading mode, you cannot turn it off in the autoprogram. Instead, you can select any particular massage type you want, but then you have to move the position of the massage balls and it will not automatically do your entire back. (2) I would have liked a nicer color for the chair. That being said, the chair works great for spot massages. If you find the massage too intense, you can always use the pad provided to soften the massage, it works great. Now I want the foot massage which goes with it.

5 out of 5 stars I use it every day   January 5, 2008

After a lot of begging and budgeting, I managed to convince my significant other to splurge on this chair a year ago. 12 months later and I still use it every day. The percussion mode is the only one I don't really care for as it can feel like someone is smacking you around a bit, especially when it jars you to attention in the auto mode. To avoid this issue, I typically set it to work on my lower back with the kneeding and within a minute I'm in heaven. It comes with a removable second layer of padding for people that are on the boney side, and can tilt up and down enough to really help you relax (or so you can set the chair at a deeper than usual angle for when you really want it to dig in to a trouble stop).

I'm very happy with this chair, especially for the price. I was worried that I would get sick of it or that it wouldn't do the job as well as a pricier chair, but after a year the only complaint I have is that it doesn't do the legs and feet (the ottoman 3.0 is now in the mail to fix this minor issue).

Now that I'm pregnant, I've been relying on it even more for the aches and pains that come along with expecting. I don't know what I would do without it!

This massage chair is great to have at home. We have wanted one for years, and are thoroughly enjoying it.

4 out of 5 stars Great value, great massage   January 9, 2007

The chair has simple pre-set programs (I basically use only the full-body massage), but also allows for designing your own massage by choosing specific movements and massage area.

Of course it is not the same as a real massage and not as good as the $2,500 chairs, but offers a great way to relax your back muscles at a great value.
