Good massage, reliable??? May 22, 2010

I did some research, sat in a bunch of chairs, and decided on the HT-5040 as the right balance of cost and features. It's really great looking, very comfortable and has are really broad range of features. I got it home (after some delivery issues with the local store). Loved it. It is really nice and does a good massage. It was functional almost 48 hrs after we got it. Now it's dead and I'm returning it to the store. I think it's a nice chair and could be great if you get a good one. I would very strongly recommend the extended warranty. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to buy another one or look at some other products.

So far so good! Good features - really appreciate the manual and zone options (focus on specific area). The HT-5040 model has really good range from the base of your head to the lower back. There's a setting for short/medium/tall to better fit your body length when using the auto programs. Wasn't so impressed with the stretch until about 10 minutes in. it basically starts slow and eases you into a stretch of sorts. You think it's not such a big deal and then it's an 'ok - that's how it works'.

The chair was shipped from the Backstore in Calif. and arrived in Texas within the time specified. I had sent an email requesting shipping notice the day of, so I wouldn't have to miss a day of work. The Backstore responded promptly and the trucking company was very accommodating. The chair was easy to unpack and move into position. No assembly, just gotta strip the protective stuff off, velcro the seat cushions in place, plug it in and sit down. Read the instructions on where/how the velcro connections are, and yes they hold really well - no seat movement at all and you wouldn't know that's how the cushions attach.

I live in a small house and it fits fine. I do have to move it out a few feet to make room for a full recline (stretch), but it slides easily (note: it's not on carpet). It's not the real thing as it can't get get to the top/front of your shoulders, but works great on the knots in my shoulder blades - and that's saying something. My only concern is anything with motorized parts eventually wears out, and for the price I'm expecting this chair to last a while. I'm using it daily so we'll see. I think I hear it calling me - gotta go...

The Human Touch HT-5040 is a wonderful chair. We use ours everyday. It is great for anyone and everyone! If you have back problems, this helps tremendously! If you just need a stress reducer, these chairs are fantastic!
